ONCOLOGY NURSE EDUCATOR TO SPEAK AT

CHESAPEAKE MULTIPLE MYELOMA NETWORK MEETING

 

Deborah Cook, RN, BSN, an Oncology Certified Nurse, will speak at the quarterly meeting of the Chesapeake Multiple Myeloma Network (CMMN) on Saturday, November 19 at 4:00 PM in the Large Conference Room of the Eastern Shore Conservation Center (114 S. Washington St., Easton). The talk, Fatigue & Stress Management with Multiple Myeloma and other Blood Cancers, is free and open to the public. Nurse Cook’s talk will focus on common problems of fatigue and stress as well as coping strategies for individuals and their care providers experiencing multiple myeloma and other blood cancers. Nurse Cook has worked in the field of oncology nursing for sixteen years and specializes in multiple myeloma in her position as the Mid-Atlantic Region Clinical Nurse Educator for Takeda Oncology.

The Chesapeake Multiple Myeloma Network (CMMN) is an informal eastern-shore group of individuals affected by multiple myeloma. Its mission is “to provide ongoing resources of information, support, shared experiences, and hope for persons with multiple myeloma, their families, and friends.” CMMN’s meetings last about an hour and a half. The meeting will be followed by an end-of-year social gathering with refreshments and light fare.
